Redfin Teams On Green Home Effort

In a move to help people build their own, "green" homes, Seattle-based Redfin said today that it has linked with homebuilder Blu Homes on an effort which lets users find and buy property, and then create and build a new home on that land via Blue Homes. Redfin said the new service, which is launching in the San Francisco area, will expand nationally in coming months, and allows its customers to search for land, and then configure and built a new home via Blu Homes, a developer of pre-fabricated, custom buildings. Blu Homes develops energy efficient, sustainable "green" homes which are manufactured in a factory in California, and then shipped, assembled, and configured to suit an owner, per an online 3D configuration tool. Business details between the two companies were not announced.
