ACD Systems Spins Up Free Viewer
In a move to try to introduce more users to its line of software, Seattle-based photo manipulation and editing software developer ACD Systems said last week that it has released a new, free software product called ACDSee Free. The new software takes technology from ACD's line of image manipulation and organization software, allowing users to view various formats of images on their PC. The firm said the new, free app is specifically geared to showcase its "legendary viewing speed", and allows users to view photos, rotate them, copy, or save them to another location. Although the tool is free, it does lack most of the reasons users use ACD's software in the first place, which is ease of navigation and browsing of files, ability to crop and modify files, or any tools for categorizing and managing photos.
