    Action Engine Launches Multimedia Service


    Bellevue, Washington-based Action Engine said today that it has launched a new, integrated multimedia service for providing streaming video and audio to wireless devices. The firm said the new service, Action Engine MediaPro, is focused on helping its customers enhance their on-device portals. Action Engine's products are used by wireless telecommunications operators. The firm said the new service will include transcoding services for wireless streaming, optimization techniques for detecting network bandwidth and device constraints, hosted content management, video and audio usage tracking, along with ad insertion services and billing.
