Airbiquity, Siemens Ink Multi-Year Licensing Deal

Seattle-based wireless communications software publisher Airbiquity Inc. revealed Monday that its aqLink technology will be incorporated into a product of German-based electronics manufacturer Siemens AG as part of a recent global licensing agreement. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Siemens, which is one of the largest producers of wireless, machine-to-machine communications equipment, will integrate Airbiquity's aqLink in-band modem software into its AC75 wireless modules. This feature, Airbiquity explained, will enable two-way data transmission anywhere a cellular voice call can be made. The jointly developed module should be commercially available in the second half of this year, Airbiquity added.
