Airbiquity Raises $25M In Funding
Seattle-based Airbiquity Inc., a provider of wireless data communications services, reported Tuesday that it has raised $25 million in venture financing. Airbiquity credited first-time contributor Ignition Partners and current investors Acorn Ventures, Kirnaf LTD and Shell Internet Ventures with leading the effort. Airbiquity said the bulk of the money will be used to support a global expansion initiative. The company said it will also use the funds to enter the personal navigation device market and to bolster development of its VIAaq managed data service, which will launch with an automobile manufacturer in the second quarter of this year.
