    Amazon Adds Tagging API

Amazon.com said today that it has recently launched a new feature which exposes the firm's tagging capability through a Web Services API. Amazon, which allows developers access to its e-commerce and product catalog through an application programming interface (API) called Amazon ECS, said the new tagging feature allows developers to access information about "tags" -- keywords attached to products by its users. Tagging is a Web 2.0 feature which allows users to identify and label products, articles, and other information by keyword.
