    Amazon Backs Music Download Startup


    Amazon.com has invested in a New York-based digital music download site, AmieStreet.com, AmieStreet said this morning. Amount of the Series A investment was not disclosed. AmieStreet operates an online social networking focused, music download site where the price of music is based on how many people download a particular song. The firm was founded in spring of 2006 by seniors from Brown University.
