Amazon Buys Eero For Mesh Networking

Seattle-based Amazon announced on Monday afternoon that it has acquired Eero, the maker of a mesh, Wi-Fi networking system for the home. The buy is the latest in Amazon purchasing its own hardware company. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Eero said becoming part of Amazon will enable it to bring its systems to more customers around the globe. Nick Weaver is Co-Founder and CEO of eero, which was venture backed by Index Ventures, First Round Capital, Shasta Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Playground Global, and others.
