Amazon Buys LOVEFiLM

Seattle-based Amazon.com said today that it has reached an agreement to acquire LOVEFiLM International Limited, which operates an online DVD and game rental service with online streaming of films and TV shows. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. LOVEFiLM operates its service in Europe, including the UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Amazon was already a minority shareholder in LOVEFiLM, and LOVEFiLM had acquired Amazon's European DVD rental business in 2008, taking that business full circle.
