Amazon Claims Record Breaking Amazon Device Sales Over Weekend

Amazon.com said on Tuesday that it had its "best-ever holiday shopping weekend" for its various devices--including the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire Tablet, and Amazon Echo--with particularly good sales of Amazon Fire TV devices on Cyber Monday. The company--which, in typical style, did not provide any hard numbers to back its claims--said it saw sales of 2x over last year for its Amazon devices, with millions of devices sold. Amazon had been offering up many Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals on its lineup of devices. Amazon frequently issues releases touting sales records on its products, but almost never backs those with any hard numbers that can be scrutinized by analysts or others.
