Amazon.com Buys Double Helix Games

Seattle-based Amazon.com has acquired videogame developer Double Helix Games, the two companies revealed yesterday, adding a 75-person videogame development team to the e-commerce giant. Financial terms of the stealthy deal were not disclosed. Double Helix Games was based in Irvine, California, and was the result of a merger of video game studios Shiny Entertainment and The Collective. It's unclear what Amazon.com hopes to do with the acquisition.
