    Amazon Expands In Arizona

Amazon.com Inc. announced Tuesday that it will open a new fulfillment center later this year in the Grand Canyon State. Amazon said its new facility, which will be based in Phoenix, will cover 600,000 square feet, among the largest for the e-commerce retailer. Amazon said that up to 300 full-time employees will be needed to staff the building, plus an additional 1,000-1,300 temporary jobs during the 2007 holiday season. The firm said that the facility should open in Q3 and will fulfill media orders, including books, DVDs, music and software.
