Amazon Planning Big Announcement September 6th

Amazon is planning a major announcement on September 6th, and has invited the press to a mysterious event in Los Angeles, California. The firm has not given any hints about what the major announcement is all about, however, speculation in the tech press revolves around a new Kindle model, some kind of link with Hollywood, or both. The announcement is usual for the company, in that it has traditionally conducted big media announcement events in New York, where it has unveiled a number of its Kindle models; this one is in Santa Monica, California.
