Portland-based AppFog announced this morning that it has appointed John Purrier, a former HP executive, as its new Chief Technology Officer. The developer of platform-as-a-service (PaaS) products said Purrier was most recently Vice President of Open Source Cloud Services at Hewlett Packard, heading up all of HP's open source cloud technology. Purrier has also served at Microsoft, IBM, and Rackspace. Purrier is also active with the OpenStack project.
