Avvo Debuts Legal Marketplace

Looking for a divorce or someone to help you with a traffic ticket? Seattle-based Avvo has launched a brand new, legal marketplace to help users find lawyers, which allows people to receive specific proposals from attorneys based on their case details. According to Avvo, the new marketplace came out of its experience watching the legal Q&A questions in its forums, which the firm said really indicated users needed to be hiring an attorney--not asking questions on the forum.

With the new legal marketplace, Avvo now lets users provide more details on their individual situation, and then matches those cases to attorneys who can provide specific responses on those legal matters. Ultimately, the service connects clients to multiple attorneys, so that they can schedule a consultation with them. Avvo said it is initially launching the service in the area of divorce and traffic tickets, and will be further expanding its footprint.
