Bezos Backs Uber

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com, has made an investment in Uber, the personalized private car service, via his investment arm today. Bezos Expeditions is one of the new investors in a $32M funding round for San Francisco-based Uber, which also included Menlo Venture, Goldman Sachs, Benchmark Capital, and Lowercase Capital. The Series B round came as Uber launched its first international market, Paris. Uber offers up a private car service which can be dispatched via text message or iPhone or Android apps.
