Big Fish Buys Grubby Games

Seattle-based casual computer game distributor Big Fish Games has acquired game developer Grubby Games of Vancouver, B.C., Grubby announced Thursday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a post made Thursday afternoon on Grubby's company forum, CEO and co-founder Ryan Clark said his firm will become part of Big Fish's Vancouver office. "Although our name will have changed," Clark wrote, "you can still expect to see the same high quality games from us ... for years to come!" Gaming industry news service Gamasutra.com also reported the transaction and quoted Big Fish President and CEO Jeremy Lewis as saying his company will release a new brand in the next quarter based on Grubby's proprietary game technology.
