Big Fish Games Acquired For $885M

Seattle-based casual games maker Big Fish Games has been acquired for $885M, by gaming operator Churchill Downs. The deal is split between $485M in cash and some stock, plus earnout worth up to $350M. Big Fish Games is led by founder and CEO Paul Thelen, who also is slated to get a bonus of up to $50M as part of the deal. Big Fish Games was backed by Balderton Capital, General Catalyst Partners and Salmon River Capital.
