Bill Gates Backs Energy Storage Technology Developer

Bill Gates is one of the investors backing a developer of energy storage technology, LightSail. Silicon Valley-based LightSail say sit raised $37.3M in a Series D funding round, to advance its technology that stores energy using compressed air and thermodynamics. The funding was led by Peter Thiel, and also included Khosla Ventures, Bill Gates, Innovacorp, and others. The size of the investment by Gates was not disclosed. More information »
