Bing Rolls Out New Search UI

Bing, the online search engine which is part of Microsoft, has rolled out its new user interface in the U.S., saying that it is looking to help reduce the time wasted searching for information. The search engine--which says it "takes you from searching to doing" includes a new multi-column design which includes social information from sites such as Facebook and Twitter, but also maintains the algorithmically driven search results on a separate column. Bing has notably embraced Facebook--asking users to "Connect with Facebook" for the social results--in a stark contrast with Google, which has been looking to unseat both Facebook and Twitter with its own, social networking service called Google+. As part of the launch, Bing said it has also linked with DoSomething.org, a nonprofit which helps to inspire people to give back to their community.
