Boeing Wants To Fight Fires With (Military) Firepower
Is the use of artillery the future of fighting wildfires? A recent patent, issued to Boeing, suggests that fire fighters might want to look at using military, field howitzers to put out fires--using specially designed artillery shells, designed to release fire suppressant when launched. The patent--which was file in July (US 14/180,307)--has received recent attenntion with the issues the West is having with fires this season. Boeing has a huge body of patents, ranging from scores of patents related to aviation, spacecraft, and communications.
