BreakThisRecord.com Looks To Spur Competition
Kent, Washington-based BreakThisRecord.com is hoping to spur the competitive nature of Internet users, with its site, which allows users to post videos and compete to beat other users on personal records. Among competitions on the site: how fast users can eat two Hostess Twinkies; how fast you can guzzle a can of Coca Cola; and how many times you can hop on one foot. According to the company, the site was founded by Jeff Huffman and Jesse Prohn, and was the result of the two looking for ways to engage their children to become more active and less interested in video games. Huffman, answering questions about the company, said that the site has been up and running for about four months. According to Huffman, the firm is privately backed and looking for venture capital to take the firm to the next level. The site goes up against such competitors as Ibeatyou.com.
