Building Energy Gets $300K From Lighter Capital

Portland-based Building Energy, which provides cloud-based software for managing the energy efficiency of buildings, has raised $300,000 in growth funding, from Seattle's Lighter Capital. According to the company, the funds go towards expanding its operations. Building Energy is led by D. Magnus Cheifetz. The company targets building owners, managers, and energy service providers with its products, which use data on millions of buildings to help those property managers better compare how their own properties measure up on energy efficiency than other, similar buildings.
