Cardiac Dimensions Raises $35.5M in Series D Funding

Cardiac Dimensions Inc., a manufacturer of devices that treat heart failure, announced Tuesday that it has raised a fourth round of venture financing worth $35.5 million. Cardiac Dimensions said that Johnson & Johnson Development Corp. and Lumira Capital led the effort. Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, West River Capital, Montgomery & Co., Frazier Healthcare Ventures, Interwest Partners, MPM Capital and Polaris Venture Partners also participated, Cardiac Dimensions said. The Kirkland, Wash.-based business said that the funding will be used for clinical trials in the United States and Europe in support of its CARILLON Mitral Contour System, which is currently under evaluation in pilot studies in Europe, South America and Australia.
