Chirpify Powers Green Day In-Stream Music Purchases

In a big win for Portland's Chirpify, the band Green Day has tapped the company to power the purchase of its newest song via Twitter. Green Day played its new song, "Let Yourself Go" at the MTV Video Music Awards Thursday evening, and started letting fans purchase the song via Twitter via Chirpify's service. Chirpify lets anyone sell, transact, and pay for purchases using Twitter, simply by replying to a Tweet. Chirpify, headed by Chris Teso, said that Green Day will be selling songs from its newest album via the service, as well. Green Day looks to be the highest profile band yet to tap into the company's services. Chirpify is venture backed by TiE Oregon Angels, Voyager Capital, Geoff Entress, and others.
