    Clearwire Raises $900M


    Kirkland, Washington-based Clearwire, the high speed wireless broadband company that is headed by craig McCaw, has raised $900M in a giant venture capital round. Clearwire said this afternoon that it has raised the round of funding from Intel Capital and Motorola Ventures. Motorola has also acquired Clearwire's subsidiary NextNet Wireless. As part of the deal, Motorola will now be the supplier of wireless broadband equipment for Clearwire. Clearwire is launching a network to provide wireless high-speed Internet service.
