Clipboard Acquired By Salesforce, Shut Down

Bellevue-based social bookmarking service Clipboard has been acquired by Salesforce.com, in a positive return for the company--but one which will shut down the service. According to Clipboard, Salesforce has acquired the company, but will shut down the service as of June 30th. According to reports, the deal was worth between $10M and $20M. Clipboard had raised around $2.5M in funding from Acequia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Betaworks, CODE Advisors, CrunchFund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, First Round Capital, Founders Co-op, Index Ventures, Scientia, SV Angel, and Vast Ventures. Clipboard said its five person team will join Salesforce.com's Seattle office. The firm had been headed by Gary Flake.
