CONTOUR Sports Action Brand Revived Under New Owner

Former Seattle sports action camera maker CONTOUR had a sudden--and unexpected--flameout last year, suddenly closing its doors and laying off all of its staff. However, the camera brand is back--under totally new ownership--although it has moved its headquarters to Park City, Utah. Contour had suddenly shut its doors and laid off all of its employees in Seattle in August of 2013. The company apparently has sold the brand to a new company--Contour LLC--headed by former Apple Computer executive Danny Lysenko. The company said it will begin launching new cameras again this year, and has already started taking orders for its existing products again. Financial details of the acquisition deal were not announced; it appears the deal happened in December of 2013.
