Convoy Finds $2.5M To Streamline The Trucking Business

Seattle-based Convoy, a new startup which is looking to use technology to streamline the business of trucking, has raised $2.5M in a seed funding round, the company said today. The funding came from Bezos Expeditions, Marc Benioff (Salesforce.com), Omidyar Technology Ventures, KKR CEO Henry Kravis, Hadi and Ali Partovi,Dara Khosrowshahi (Expedia), Drew Houston (Dropbox), Howard Behar (Starbucks), Allen & Company, Fuel Capital, Nicolas Berggruen, Adrian Aoun, Charlie Songhurst, Grant Ries, Noosheen Hashemi, Hooman Radfar, and Michael Dougherty. The company, led by Dan Lewis, says its service allows companies to book shipments in seconds, using an on-demand app.
