Cray Wins $23M Contract
Seattle-based Cray, the developer of supercomputers, reported a $23M contract win this morning in Germany. The firm said the award came to provide two Cray XC30 supercomputers and two Cray Sonexion 1600 storage systems to the German National Meteorological Service in Offenbach, Germany. The systems will go towards weather forecasting efforts. Cray said it expects the systems to be delivered and put into production in 2013 and 2014.
