![]() Monday, August 25, 2008 CreateSpace Signs MTV NetworksCreateSpace, a property of Seattle-based online retailer Amazon.com Inc., revealed Monday that MTV Networks will use CreateSpace's technology to produce DVDs of select television shows from its network of cable channels. The financial impact of the new business was not disclosed. CreateSpace provides a DVD-on-demand manufacturing process which allows publishers to offer DVD titles for sale and then burn and label those DVDs on demand. CreateSpace said the DVDs will be made from shows that air on MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VH1, including "Newport Harbor," "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew," "Drake & Josh" and "Hey Arnold!" This marks the first time those titles are available on DVD, CreateSpace noted, adding that the new releases will initially be sold only at Amazon.com. CreateSpace's technology manufactures discs only after a customer has ordered them. posted on Monday, August 25, 2008
