Portland-based Crowd Factory, which develops software for managing social marketing campaigns and word-of-mouth marketing efforts, has been acquired by Marketo, a developer of marketing automation tools, the firms said today. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Marketo said the acquisition, its first, will add social marketing automation to its lineup of products. Crowd Factory's clients include Molson Coors, Sony Music, Jive Software, Quickoffice and British Telecom. The firm was venture backed by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Peninsula Ventures, and Storm Ventures.
