Beaverton, Oregon-based Digimarc, the provider of digital identification software, looks to be getting some traction for its new Print-to-Pin software, reporting today that the product will be used in Cosmopolitan and Redbook. The firm's software--which allows consumers to scan images in those magazines and post them to Pinterest--uses watermarking technology developed by Digimarc to scan the image to gain access to a high resolution, digital version which can be pinned to Pinterest. FInancial details of the win were not disclosed. The Digimarc-enabled issue of Cosmopolitan runs in September; Redbook's July issue will also feature the technology. Digimarc's digital image watermarking technology is an alternative to 2D barcodes like QR codes.
