Digimarc Licenses Technology to Spanish Firm

Beaverton, Ore.-based Digimarc Corp., a developer of digital-watermarking technology, revealed Thursday that it will license its documentation authentication platform to AquaMobile S.L., a value-added mobile services provider based in Madrid. According to Digimarc, AquaMobile has authorized an expanded licensing agreement that will enable it to market various print-to-Web mobile consumer applications based on the Digimarc Mobile platform throughout France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom. The financial impact of the agreement was not disclosed. Digimarc's said that its products help print more than 60 million personal identification documents, including two-thirds of U.S. driver's licenses, each year.
