Donuts Bids $70M For Rightside Group In Battle For TLD Domination

Bellevue-based Donuts Inc is hoping to gain further global Top Level Domain (TLD) domination, by bidding $70M in a hostile battle for gTLD provider Rightside Group, Ltd.. Donuts said it has offered up $70M in cash to acquire the entirety of Rightside Group, Ltd.'s gTLD registry, in an offer that so far has been spurned by Rightside. Donuts explained that is "repeatedly" been disregarded by Rightside after expressing interest in that company's gTLD assets. Both companies offer up domain name extensions--those domains that are an expansion of the more common .com, .net, and other domains commonly in use today--to users.
