Earth Class Mail Goes Bankrupt

Bellevue, Washington-based Earth Class Mail, the venture-backed startup which had been looking to digitize and make postal mail available to users online, has filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. According to a regulatory filing by the firm, it had liabilities of $13.7M and assets of only $1.2 million. Earth Class Mail was backed by investors Ignition Partners and the Keiretsu Forum angel investment group, and had raised around $21.65M in funding. The company was originally known as Document Command.
