Earth Class Mail Launches Check Deposit

Taking its efforts to reduce postal mail another step, Seattle-based Earth Class Mail said today that it has added the ability for its users to electronically deposit checks, to any bank in the U.S. According to the firm, its new Check Deposit Service identifies scanned mail that contains checks, and allows users to view those checks and deposit them into any bank account. The firm is tapping electronic banking firm BankServ for the check deposit technology. Earth Class Mail did not detail any costs which will be associated with the service, however, the firm said it is targeting the service to people who want to eliminate the hassle of processing paper checks and want to get faster access to their funds.
