EnerG2 Unveils Technology
Seattle-based EnerG2, a developer of energy storage technology, unveiled its technology today, saying it is looking to help provide energy storage breakthroughs through its advanced nano-structured materials. The firm, which is backed by $8.5M in funding from OVP and Firelake, said that it is using material science to design customzied electrode materials for ultracapacitors. Ultracapacitors are being applied to the hybrid electric vehicle market, as a replacement for conventional batteries. The firm said that its technology may also be applied in the future to improve natural gas, methane and hydrogen storage as well as lithium-ion batteries.
