ESI Buys Semiconductor Business From GSI Group

Portland-based ESI, the developer of laser-based equipment for the electronics industry, announced this morning that it has acquired the Semiconductor Systems business of GSI Group. GSI's Semiconductor Systems business is based in Bedford, Massachusetts. According to ESI, the deal will add approximately $20 to $30M in annual revenue to ESI. financial details of the buy were not announced by the company. GSI's Semiconductor Systems group provides laser marking and trimming of semiconductor wafers and hybrid circuits.
