Expedia Buys Travelocity For $280M

Bellevue-based travel site Expedia is acquiring fellow online travel site Travelocity, in a deal worth $280M in cash, the two said Friday. Expedia is acquiring Travelocity from travel technology provider Sabre. The two had been in a strategic relationship since 2013, where Expedia had provided the technology backend platform for Travelocity US and Canadian websites.
