Expedia Drops Change, Other Fees

Bellevue-based travel site Expedia said this week that it has eliminated change fees and cancel fees on all hotel, car rental, cruise reservations, and "virtually all" of its flight reservations, in addition to removing online air booking fees. According to Expedia, the move comes after a trial on elimination of air booking feeds in March. Expedia's competitors, Orbitz.com and Travelocity.com have also recently eliminated their booking fees, as the sites have struggled to attract more people to book with them rather than directly through airline web sites.
