ExtraHop Networks Updates Software

Seattle-based ExtraHop, the developer of network application performance management appliances, said this morning that it has launched a big update of its products. The firm said that its new version 3.7 of its ExtraHop Application Delivery Assurance System is specifically aimed at adding new application performance monitoring features, including the ability to monitor the use of application programming interface (API) calls. That new feature allows users to externally measure the latency and speed of various application programming calls, across REST, JSON, RSS, SOAP, XML-RPC, JavaScript, and HTML5, which helps companies better figure out the latency of their apps due to external API requests. That ability is key to making web-based applications perform faster, without requiring adding code or additional overhead to figure out that impact. ExtraHop is led by Jesse Rothstein.
