F5 Signs New Zealand Retailer

Load balancing hardware provider F5 Networks Inc. revealed Tuesday that a prominent, New Zealand-based online retailer had adopted an F5 solution. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. According to Seattle-based F5, Trade Me Ltd. has implemented F5's VIPRION Application Delivery Controllers to help manage the demands of its burgeoning customer base and the associated increase in traffic. F5 said Trade Me Ltd. has also purchased three products from its BIG-IP suite: Local Traffic Manager, Global Traffic Manager and Application Security Manager. F5 described Trade Me Ltd. as New Zealand's largest online marketplace, with more than 2 million registered members and 4 million-plus visitors to its site each month.
