FEI Buys Visualization Sciences Group

Hillsboro, Oregon-based FEI, which develops scientific instruments, including electron beam microscopes, said Wednesday that it has acquired Visualization Sciences Group (VSG), based in Bordeaux, France. FEI said it paid approximately $55M for VSG. VSG had approximately $19M in revenues for the 12 months ended June 30, 2012, and has 88 employees. According to FEI, the move will bolster its products for the Natural Resources and Life Sciences business.
