FEI Gets Win In Japan

Hillsboro, Ore.-based FEI Co., a manufacturer of high-resolution imaging devices, revealed Monday that a Japanese agency has ordered one of its Titan3 80-300 transmission/scanning electron microscopes. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. FEI identified its new client as the National Institute for Materials Science, which is Japan's sole independent administrative agency in that field. FEI said the system will represent one of the most powerful commercially available S/TEMs ever constructed and should be installed by 2010 at the Advanced Nano-Characterization Center in Tsukuba, Japan.
