Fitcode Finds $1.8M For Fashion Shopping Technology

Seattle-based Fitcode, a startup developing software to help women better figure out how fashions might fit them while shopping online, has raised $1.8M in a funding round, the company said this morning. The startup, led by Rian Buckley, said that the funding was led by Harvey Partners. Buckley and her co-founder have developed an online shopping service which helps match a woman to the style of clothing that best fit her body type, which the company says is a better gauge of clothing than traditional sizes. The company currently is applying that technology for figuring out body shape and type to denim jeans, but has plans to eventually extend that technology into other clothing areas. Fitcode said this new, Series A funding goes towards scaling operations, building a native mobile app and enhancing user experience by adding more denim brands.
