    Digimarc to License Patent Portfolio to MSI


    Digimarc Corp., a provider of personal identification and media management services, revealed Monday that it has signed a new intellectual property agreement with Media Sciences International, a provider of digital watermarking solutions to the music industry. Digimarc said it will license a portion of its patent portfolio to MSI. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Digimarc noted that MSI's technology is currently incorporated in more than 5 million audio tracks from major record labels. This technology, Digimarc explained, helps identify and track leaks of promotional, pre-release music onto the Internet. Digimarc is headquartered in Beaverton, Ore.
