Dell, the computer hardware manufacturer, said today that its services arm--which was previously Perot Systems--has opened up a new technology center in Quincy, Washington. Size of the center and extent of the new technology center was not announced by Dell. Dell said the new center will provide access to disaster recovery and business continuity tools, enterprise class secure private and hybrid clouds, and other expertise to its customers. Dell did not say how many employees will be based in the new location. Quincy is the location in East-Central Washington where Microsoft, Yahoo, Intuit, and others have established air cooled data centers, among Quincy's patchwork quilt of farm fields. Dell reportedly acquired its property in Quincy in 2010.
