nFluence Media Lands $3M

Seattle-based nFluence Media, a new startup which helps users control the flow of advertising, deals, and other media being sent to their inboxes, said today that it has raised $3M in a funding round. The round came from the Alliance of Angels, along with Voyager Capital. The AoA Seed Fund also participated. nFluence is developing a service which allows consumers to create anonymous, self-profiles which marketers can use to present daily deals to consumers, who--in exchange for providing detailed information about their preferences and demographics--get to remain anonymous. The new startup is headed by Henry Lawson, and was founded by Brian Roundtree. Roundtree founded SNAPin Software,which was sold to Nuance back in 2004 for $224M. The firm's chairman is Tom Huseby.
