Bellevue-based Tecplot, a developer of visualization software for engineering and scientists, said this week that it has named Rich Stillman as its President and CEO. Stillman has been at Tecplot since April of 2011, and previously served as president and COO of Coinstar, and CEO of Ivey Imaging. Stillman replaces Tecplot co-founder Mike Peery, who remains Chairman of the company's board. Stillman also joins the firm's board with the appointment. Tecplot's software is used to visualize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, which are used for designing and studying everything from airplanes, dolphins, automobiles, heart valves, and other objects and how they interact with liquids, air, and other environments.
